Colours*

Rich and full-bodied, our colours are carefully prepared to bring out the natural grain of the wood. Durable, our oils let the wood breathe while providing the desired effect.

Colours can be mixed to create unique shades.

For a slightly deeper colour, apply a second coat after 24 hours.

For a lighter colour, mix with Uno Colourless.

The colour 00 – Colourless provides an amber finish and enhances the wood grain.

The colour 22 – Natural is slightly whitened. It helps preserve the whiteness of white woods (pine, maple, cherry, spruce, beech, aspen, etc.). It’s strongly recommended to perform a test beforehand on open-grain and coloured woods (oak, walnut, mahogany, elm, etc.).

*Colours are for guidance only. Actual colours may vary from screen to screen. Not all colours are available in all formats.

Use

  1. Apply at a temperature above 15 °C.
  2. Ensure the wood is free from any previous finish and meticulously sanded with 100 or 120 grit sandpaper.
  3. Dust off using a vacuum cleaner.
  4. Before applying on dense woods such as maple, dampen the wood, let it dry for 2 hours, then lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper and dust off with a vacuum cleaner.
  5. After sanding, it is recommended to clean the wood with PRATO PREP to remove dust particles, reduce tannins, and enhance colour intensity.
  6. Perform a test of the product on a hidden surface and let it dry for 24 hours to confirm the result, as it may vary depending on the type of wood used.

Manual Application:

  1. Thoroughly mix with a stick before and during application.
  2. Apply in a thin coat, using circular motions, until the wood is saturated using a STAIN PAD, POLYCOTTON RAGS, short-haired roller, or brush.
  3. After 5 to 15 minutes, wipe the surface dry with clean POLYCOTTON RAGS to remove any excess oil.
  4. Clean tools and accessories used with TOOLS CLEANER AND THINNER, and soak oil-saturated cloths in water before disposing of them in the trash.
  5. Allow 18 to 24 hours to dry.
  6. Optional: Repeat all previous steps for applying a second coat.

Mechanical Application:

  1. Thoroughly mix with a stick before and during application.
  2. Apply the oil using a trowel or short-haired roller.
  3. After 5 to 15 minutes, polish using a floor polisher with a white or beige pad.
  4. If there is excess oil after polishing, place a POLYCOTTON RAG under the pad and run the polisher again to remove excess oil. Replace the cloth when saturated with oil.
  5. Alternatively, apply the oil directly with the polisher by adding a small amount of oil to the center of the pad and rubbing until the product is evenly applied.
  6. Clean tools and accessories used with TOOLS CLEANER AND THINNER, and soak oil-saturated cloths in water before disposing of them in the trash.
  7. Allow 18 to 24 hours to dry.
  8. Optional: Repeat all previous steps for applying a second coat.

Prato-Verde Tools Cleaner and Thinner

For regular cleaning: SECONDO CLEAN

To revive shine and enhance protection every 2 to 3 months:
SECONDO MAINTENANCE

For intensive cleaning (degreasing, deep cleaning), as needed:
SECONDO PREP

The greatest advantage of oil in wood treatment is its ease of maintenance and repair. The key to well-maintained oiled wood is prevention. The longer the interval between treatments, the longer the process will take. Once SECONDO CLEAN and SECONDO MAINTENANCE are no longer sufficient to keep your oiled wood in good condition, it’s a sign that it’s time to consider applying a new coat of oil.

UNO requires no further treatment as long as the finishing oil is well maintained, unless there are stains or wear on small localized areas.

For areas in generally good condition (with stains or small localized damage):

  1. Sand the damaged localized area with 120-grit sandpaper.
  2. Reapply UNO colouring oil to the sanded area following the product’s instructions.
  3. Apply two coats of finishing oil according to the product’s instructions.

For areas in poor condition (significant discolouration, graying surface, inadequate water sealing, several stains, or damaged areas):

  1. If cleaning with SECONDO PREP does not eliminate stains and graying, restart the entire initial procedure with UNO and SECONDO products.

Keep the product in a sealed container at a temperature between 10°C and 25°C for storage. Under these conditions, the product will maintain its quality for at least 5 years.

If the product has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to return to room temperature for 24 hours before using.

After use, soak the rags in water or lay them flat to dry before disposal.

Wipe off any liquid residue before recycling the container.

Any leftover product should be brought to your municipality’s eco-center.

Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from flames or sparks.

DANGER OF COMBUSTION: Materials such as rags used with this product may begin to burn by themselves. After use, put rags in water or lay flat to dry, then discard.
