Colours*

Rich and full-bodied, our colours are carefully prepared to bring out the natural grain of the wood. Durable, our oils let the wood breathe while providing the desired effect.

Colours can be mixed to create unique shades.

For application on sawn wood, you can reduce the colour intensity by adding Pareo Zero 100 – Colourless in a maximum ratio of 1:1. This step is not recommended for planed and sanded woods, as diluting the colour pigments would decrease UV resistance.

Applying colours 100 – Colourless and 101 – Natural on surfaces exposed to sunlight requires more frequent maintenance.

Colour 100 – Colourless provides an amber finish and highlights the wood grain.

Colour 101 – Natural is slightly whitened and helps preserve the whiteness of light woods (pine, maple, cherry, spruce, beech, aspen, etc.). It is strongly recommended to perform a test beforehand on open-grain and coloured woods (oak, walnut, mahogany, elm, etc.).

*Colours are for guidance only. Actual colours may vary from screen to screen. Not all colours are available in all formats.

Use

  1. Ensure the wood’s moisture content is below 20%.
  2. Do not apply in direct sunlight or at temperatures below 10 °C, or in very humid conditions.
  3. For untreated wood or regular maintenance, clean the wood with PAREO PREP. For stripping stained or oiled wood, clean with PAREO RESET.
  4. The wood must be clean, completely dry, and sanded with 60 or 80 grit sandpaper; change the sandpaper regularly to ensure good product penetration.
  5. Dust off using a vacuum cleaner.
  6. Perform a product test on a hidden surface and allow 6 hours between coats to validate the result, as it may vary depending on the type of wood used.
  1. Thoroughly mix with a stick before and during application.
  2. Apply the first coat generously until the wood is saturated using a staining brush or a staining pad.
  3. After 5 minutes, if necessary, wipe the surface with a brush to remove any excess oil.
  4. Clean tools and accessories used with soapy water.
  5. Allow drying for 6 to 18 hours.
  6. If more than 24 hours have passed since the first application, lightly sand with 120-grit sandpaper before the second application.
  7. Apply a second thin coat, repeating all previous steps.

The greatest advantage of oil in wood treatment lies in its ease of maintenance and repair. The key to well-maintained oiled wood is prevention. The longer the interval between treatments, the longer the process will take. When PAREO CLEAN and PAREO MAINTENANCE products are no longer sufficient to keep your oiled wood in good condition, it’s a sign that it’s time to consider applying a new layer of oil.

Good general condition (Wood slightly dull) :

  1. Clean the wood with PAREO CLEAN.

  1. Clean the wood with PAREO PREP.
  2. Apply one to two coats of PAREO ZERO according to the product instructions.
  3. No sanding or stripping required.

Poor general condition (Severe discolouration, graying surface, no water resistance, many stains or damaged areas) :
