Tips

For a smoother and more even finish, lightly sand between coats with 600 or 800 grit sandpaper.

Use

  1. Dilute LINSEED OIL with 30% CITRUS SOLVENT.
  2. Apply at a temperature above 15 °C.
  3. Ensure the wood is free from any previous finish and meticulously sanded with 100 or 120 grit sandpaper.
  4. Dust off using a vacuum cleaner.
  5. After sanding, it is recommended to clean the wood with PRATO PREP to remove dust particles, reduce tannins, and enhance colour intensity.
  1. Thoroughly mix with a stirring stick.
  2. Apply a generous coat of oil until the wood is saturated using a staining pad, a cotton cloth, or a staining applicator.
  3. After 15 to 20 minutes, remove any excess oil by rubbing the surface with a cotton cloth.
  4. Allow 12 to 24 hours for drying.
  5. Repeat all previous steps for subsequent coats.

For regular cleaning : SECONDO CLEAN

To revive shine and enhance protection every 2 to 3 months : SECONDO MAINTENANCE

For intensive cleaning (degreasing, deep cleaning), as needed only : SECONDO PREP

The greatest advantage of oil in wood treatment is its ease of maintenance and repair. The key to well-maintained oiled wood is prevention. The longer the intervall between treatments, the longer the process will take. When SECONDO CLEAN and SECONDO MAINTENANCE products are no longer sufficient to keep your oiled wood in good condition, it’s a sign that it’s time to consider applying a new layer of oil.

Good general condition (Reduced liquid resistance) :

  1. Clean the wood with SECONDO CLEAN.
  2. Apply a coat of LINSEED OIL according to the product instructions.
  3. No sanding or stripping required.

Good general condition (Stains or small damaged areas) :

  1. Sand the damaged area with 120-grit sandpaper.
  2. Apply three coats of LINSEED OIL to the sanded area following the product instructions.

Medium general condition (Slight discolouration, multiple stains, reduced liquid resistance) :

  1. Clean the wood with SECONDO PREP.
  2. Apply three coats of LINSEED OIL according to the product instructions.
  3. No sanding or stripping required.

Poor general condition (Severe discolouration, graying surface, no liquid resistance, many stains or damaged areas) :

  1. If cleaning with SECONDO PREP does not remove the stains and graying, repeat the initial procedure for LINSEED OIL.

Keep the product in a sealed container at a temperature between 10°C and 25°C for storage. Under these conditions, the product will maintain its quality for at least 5 years.

If the product has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to return to room temperature for 24 hours before using.

After use, soak the rags in water or lay them flat to dry before disposal.

Wipe off any liquid residue before recycling the container.
